MOVING THROUGH THE SILENCES. I SOLISTI VENETI IN CONCERT

A program that brings into dialogue two fundamental voices of contemporary music, Arvo Pärt and Rachel Portman, united by an essential, introspective, and deeply evocative writing style. Pärt’s music, marked by a spiritual and meditative dimension and having become iconic in art-house cinema — including the opening piece of “The Great Beauty” — will be represented by some of his most celebrated compositions, including “Fratres”. The first woman to win the Academy Award for Best Original Score, Rachel Portman stands out for the formal transparency and emotional intensity of her compositions. The program features some of her most celebrated film scores, drawn from “Emma”, “Chocolat”, and “The Cider House Rules”. Alongside them, “Notturno Passacaglia” by Ennio Morricone, a piece of intense rarefaction and expressive depth, completes the musical journey. The performance is entrusted to I Solisti Veneti, a historic ensemble of international renown, protagonists of thousands of concerts and recordings with the greatest soloists.

A project that restores to film music its full artistic autonomy, highlighting its expressive uniqueness.

I Solisti Veneti: conducted by Giuliano Carella, Daniela Pini mezzo-soprano, Massimo Mercelli flute. Lorenzo Guzzoni clarinet, Alessandro Cesaro piano, Lucio Degani lead violin.
