To be Christians in a Holy Land torn apart by war, one must start every day from a deep sincerity with oneself and with God. In the face of innocent suffering and injustice, no question has a definitive answer. All the more so when one is called to lead communities that have been tried. To love, one must be sure of being loved first by a God who does not abandon us. This is the testimony daily offered by Father Francesco Ielpo, Custodian of the Holy Land, who leads the communities of the friars in Palestine, Israel, Syria and Lebanon, and Father Gabriel Romanelli, parish priest of Gaza City.
