Who we are
LATE HAVE I LOVED YOU, BEAUTY SO ANCIENT AND SO NEW
Augustine of Hippo

The exhibition aims to offer an experience of identification with Augustine’s existential journey, a path marked by a relentless search for Truth — the truth of the self and of history. A journey crossed by questions, by falls, by inner struggles, as well as by encounters, friendships, debates and dialogues, lived by him so intensely as to culminate in a moving conversion and in an indomitable witness as Bishop of Hippo. It is the intense path of an ardent and uncensored humanity, which makes us feel him so close and contemporary. Augustine is us — young and not so young — and his relevance today is an opportunity to look at our own lives and at the events of history from a new perspective, both original and originating, in order to live the certainty of hope.
