Aldo Stefano Bonomo, Senior researcher, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, Osservatorio Astrofisico di Torino; Giovanni Rosotti, Professor of Astrophysics, Università degli Studi di Milano. Moderated by Sara Gasparini, researcher, University of Bergen e NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
To date, we know of over 6,000 exoplanets, and we continue to discover new ones: nearly every star hosts at least one planet. The vast majority of these worlds, however, are very different from the planets in the Solar System. In this talk, we will discuss the extraordinary variety of exoplanets, the open questions regarding their formation, and the most pressing question: Do any of these planets harbor life?
