Aldo Bonomo

Aldo Stefano Bonomo is a Senior Researcher of the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF) at the Turin Astrophysical Observatory.

His research focuses primarily on the detection of exoplanets, the study of their properties, occurrence rates, and atmospheres, and the characterization of stars with planets. He worked for several years in France on the CNES/ESA CoRoT (Convection, Rotation and planetary Transits) space mission. He currently conducts his research primarily using the Italian Galileo telescope in the Canary Islands and NASA’s Kepler and TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) space telescopes.

He is a member of the Italian GAPS (Global Architecture of Planetary Systems) collaboration, the international HARPS-N (High-Accuracy Radial-velocity Planet Searcher for the Northern Hemisphere) consortium, and the ESA PLATO (PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars) space mission consortium, within which he holds positions of responsibility.
