Alberto Sportoletti

Alberto Sportoletti, born in Milan in 1965, is CEO and Partner of Sernet SpA – Management Advisory (www.sernet.it
), a management consulting firm founded in 1991. Since 2009, he has successfully developed and implemented in the Italian market the innovative SRR (Socially Responsible Restructuring) method, which has become a reference point for significant organizational restructurings following a socially responsible approach.

He is Vice President of Assoreind, the Association of Advisors for Reindustrialization, and President of the non-profit association Retemanager, which supports unemployed managers over 40 in re-entering the workforce.

Among other previous roles, he was responsible for the Italian market in the e-Business Middle Market and IT Strategy areas within the Strategic Change division of PWC Consulting. Earlier, he worked as a Boardroom Executive at the Galgano Group, managing projects related to managerial systems for top management (strategy and strategic planning, incentive systems, organizational restructuring, etc.) for major Italian and international companies.

After completing classical high school, he graduated with full marks in Nuclear Engineering, Materials-Physics specialization, from the Politecnico di Milano and began his career at Accenture, where he gained strong international experience in Enterprise Management and Strategic Services.

He holds the chair of “Management and Strategic Choices” in the Master’s program in Management and Service Design (MAGES) at the University of Milano-Bicocca. At the same university, he has collaborated with the Master in Management and Digital Innovation (MADIM), the Master in Human Capital Development (MACU), and the course “Strategies for Value Creation.” He previously held the chair of “E-Commerce – Strategies and Technologies for Business Process Innovation” at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Bergamo. At the same faculty, he was a lecturer and co-director of the Master in Business Strategy & Competitive Technologies, where he taught Innovation & Execution Management. He has also taught in various other postgraduate programs, including the Executive Master in Crisis & Change Management at CUOA, the MEB at Politecnico di Milano, the Master Publitalia in Marketing and Business Communication, and the Master in Management Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences of Lugano (SUPSI).

He has been a member of the Board and President of the Innovation and Competitiveness Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Monza and Brianza, and a board member of InnovHub, the special company of the Milan Chamber of Commerce for innovation.

He was a member of the strategic committee for Energy and Environment at IRER (Regional Institute for Research) of the Lombardy Region, as well as a member of examination commissions for the certification of energy certifiers according to CENED guidelines.

He was one of five members of the Scientific Committee for the Net Economy of the Lombardy Region and a member of the Net-Economy Forum established by the Chamber of Commerce, the Province, and the City of Milan. He is a certified lecturer from the European Foundation for Quality Management (sponsored by the European Union) for spreading the European business model for excellence in a Total Quality Management approach.

He contributed to several publications, including the book E-Biz: Come Organizzarsi per la Net Economy by Giorgio Merli (2000, Il Sole24Ore), and wrote the preface for Oltre la Qualità – Il nuovo Paradigma per il Governo dei Rischi Aziendali (2004, Il Sole24Ore).

He is the author of numerous articles published in leading management journals and a speaker at various conferences and seminars.

Passionate about art, literature, and sports, he has competed in skiing, tennis, athletics, and football. He is married and has five children.
