Who we are
Giorgio Bordin

Giorgio Bordin President of Medicina e Persona
Born in 1958 and graduated in Medicine in 1982, he worked in hospital departments of internal medicine, specializing in Internal Medicine, Rheumatology, and Immunology. He has always carried out clinical activity in internal medicine and rheumatology, which he continues to this day. Since 2000, he has been Director of an Internal Medicine Division in a Milan hospital, and since 2005, Director of a hospital in Parma.
He has also always cultivated a passion for art, particularly for visual arts, personally exploring aspects of graphic and pictorial arts, as well as analog photography and the rediscovery of ancient photographic techniques. His simultaneous passion for art and craftsmanship on one hand, and for medicine on the other, has fostered an interest in recognizing and deepening the multidimensional connections between the artistic and pragmatic dimensions of the profession, between knowledge and image, science and art. These themes have been the subject of publications and books and remain an active area of study.
Within the association Medicina e Persona, of which he is a member of the Board of Directors and currently President, he has organized, with the contribution of other professionals, several traveling exhibitions presented at the Meeting of Rimini. The most significant, titled “Healing and Curing: The Artistic Eye and the Clinical Eye”, has been exhibited over 60 times in cities across and beyond Italy, and its catalog has sold over 8,000 copies.
The content of this project is part of an elective course at the University of Bologna, within the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing Sciences, offered for several years now. It has also been the subject of lectures at numerous professional medical conferences and training events in both professional and academic contexts.
