“I come back every year to volunteer at the Meeting because, in the end, I always discover that what I receive is much more than what I give.”
How often do we hear words like these at the end of each edition. And every time, it’s not just a formula, but the story of something real. Volunteering at the Meeting is a unique experience: it can be demanding, made up of intense and practical days, yet capable of illuminating the rest of the year. It changes the way you look at people, work, and relationships.
This is where this year’s invitation begins again.
From April 12, 2026, registrations open for adult volunteers, both Italian and international. About a month later, from May 11, registrations will also open for university and high school students. All registrations will close on May 31.
Every year this invitation meets an extraordinary response. In 2025, there were 3,000 volunteers (500 in the pre-Meeting phase and 2,500 during the Meeting), but numbers tell only part of the story. Since 1980, tens of thousands of people have contributed to building the event, making possible something that, without this shared and voluntary work, would not even be imaginable.
If you would like to take part in this experience, the Meeting website offers a dedicated page to guide you step by step:
You will also find a FAQ section designed to answer practical questions: how work shifts are organized, whether a training certificate is required, how to access or reach the fairgrounds, as well as information about meals and accommodation during the Meeting. There are also guidelines on what to do in case of unforeseen events and what clothing is required.
Information is structured around the three phases in which you can contribute. It begins with the Pre-Meeting, from August 12 to 19, when everything is prepared; then the Meeting itself, from August 20 to 26; and finally the dismantling phase, from August 26 to 28.
Three different moments, but one common thread. Click here and discover how to experience the Meeting in this unique way.
