"The Meeting is the place where I build myself." Serena is a volunteer at the Meeting. Together with Monica, she is responsible for the International Meeting Point, "a service hub for foreigners, a place of welcome. We provide information, translations, and support for foreigners visiting the Meeting, from guided tours in different languages to exhibitions and even simultaneous translations of conferences and much more. This space has fostered deep connections with people from different countries, who have found in the International Meeting Point not just a service but a lasting community," they explain.
The experience at the International Meeting Point has taught Serena and Monica a lot.
"We have learned to collaborate, solve problems, and handle complex situations. The work we do during the week of the Meeting has had a lasting impact, helping us grow both personally and professionally. Over time, it has also helped us work better. At the beginning, we struggled when facing mistakes, but with time we learned that they are part of the journey. This awareness has also influenced our approach to professional work in daily life, making us more capable of facing challenges with greater peace of mind."
The Meeting "offers a unique perspective on reality. Through exhibitions, conferences, and dialogues, it helps us see things in a deeper and more authentic way. The Meeting is not just a cultural event; it is a place that helps rediscover the value of truth and beauty, offering a space for open and constructive dialogue," emphasize Monica and Serena.
"The Meeting has profoundly changed our lives, and we hope it can be an opportunity for others as well." For this reason, they explain, it is very important to support it and contribute to keeping this space of dialogue and growth alive. "It means allowing many people to live a unique experience, made of encounters, discoveries, and friendships that last over time. The future of the Meeting also depends on those who come after us, and we hope it will always be a place of encounter, growth, and sharing."
