Pilar Vigil is a medical doctor specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology and with a PhD in Biological Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Postdoctoral studies at the Texas Institute for Reproductive Medicine & Endocrinology, Houston, USA and The Royal Women ́s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. She is a professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and works as an OB/GYN in reproductive medicine. Together with Professors J. Brown and L. Blackwell, she has developed the concept of the ovarian continuum and is the author of over 100 scientific publications and three books on her specialty. She is recognized as a world expert in human fertility, and has been invited to lecture in more than 30 countries and participated in over 200 congresses worldwide. She has repeatedly received awards as Woman Leader by the press in Chile. Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and member of the Pontifical Academy for Life is also President of Teen STAR International. Currently she is medical director of the Reproductive Health Research Institute, located in New York, USA and Santiago, Chile.
