Viale Elena

Elena Viale is currently the School Principal at the Istituto Superiore Silvio D’Arzo in Montecchio Emilia (RE), Italy.

Work Experience:
After a long career as a literature teacher in both lower and upper secondary schools, she passed the national competition for School Principal in 2019. That same year, she was appointed head of the Istituto Comprensivo Montecchio, which she directed until August 31, 2025. During the 2022–23 and 2023–24 school years, she also served as acting principal of the Istituto Comprensivo Petrarca – San Polo. In the 2024–25 school year, she was already acting principal of the Istituto S. D’Arzo in Montecchio, of which she became head on September 1, 2025.

She has promoted and implemented innovative projects focused on digital advancement (AI4S Project – University of Bologna) and internationalization (Erasmus Plus and Erasmus VET projects).

She participated in international mobility organized by Di.S.A.L., including a job shadowing experience with a Canadian school principal.

Since May 2025, she has served as the regional president of Di.S.A.L. Emilia Romagna.

Academic Qualifications:

Degree in Modern Literature, University of Bologna

First-level Master’s in Teaching and Psychopedagogy for Specific Learning Disorders (UNIMORE)

Second-level Master’s in School Governance and Autonomy: Organizational, Strategic, and Technical Roles (IUL)

Advanced course in “Managerial Skills for School Principals for Autonomy” (Politecnico di Milano)
