Vaira Giuseppe

At just 26 years old, Giuseppe Vaira is eager to follow in the footsteps of his father, Aldo, at the family estate, GD Vajra in Barolo—named after Giuseppe Domenico, the grandfather of the younger Vajra. Having recently earned a degree in oenology from the University of Turin, Giuseppe now works full-time as a winemaker alongside his father, with whom he shares the belief that wine is the ultimate symbol of connection.

On the family’s 40-hectare estate, including 10 hectares dedicated to Nebbiolo, Giuseppe is learning from his father how to refine the distinctive style of GD Vajra’s Barolo. This style is recognized for its vibrant fruit, defined bouquet, and elegance—achieved through a careful balance between extended aging in casks and a judicious use of oak.
