Gandy Thomas

A graduate in International Relations and Accounting, he joined the Haitian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991. Over the course of his 33-year career, he has held diplomatic and consular posts in various countries: in Cuba (1998–2000), in Colombia (2001–2002), in Venezuela (2002–2005), in Chile (2005–2008), before being appointed Haiti’s Consul General in the United States, in Atlanta (2011–2016), Miami (2016–2018) and New York (2018–2021). He subsequently served as Haiti’s Acting Permanent Representative to the Organisation of American States (OAS) in Washington D.C., before taking up the post of Haiti’s Ambassador to Italy.
A member of various professional and social organisations, including the Rotary Club of Atlanta, the World Affairs Council and the GCIV, he also served as Dean of the Consular Corps in Atlanta
