Damiano, Margherita e Philipp - Terconauti

The Terconauti are Damiano and Margherita Tercon and Philipp Carboni, an artistic trio who, through theatre, video, television and books, explore autism, disability and diversity with humour and authenticity.
Their story stems from the dream of Damiano – who has autism and an intellectual disability – to become an opera singer, and from the decision by his sister Margherita and his brother-in-law Philipp to support him on a journey that has transformed the lives of all three of them. In their stories, they do not hide the difficulties, limitations and moments of vulnerability, but show how, through listening, relationships and trust, new possibilities, talents and forms of happiness can emerge.
With over one and a half million followers on social media, the Terconauti carry out important work in raising awareness and spreading the word, challenging prejudices and inviting the public to look first and foremost at the person and their potential.
They have appeared on programmes such as Italia’s Got Talent, Tu sì que vales and Comedy Central, have been TEDx speakers, and were received by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who described them as ‘dreamers and inspirers’.
Their story inspired the film La vita da grandi, directed by Greta Scarano and starring Matilda De Angelis, which has won numerous awards. They are also the authors of the books Mia sorella mi rompe le balle – Una storia di autismo normale and L’imprevisto di diventare adulti.
In their show Una storia di autismo normale, they bring opera singing, comedy, video and personal testimony to the stage. Their message is that a life marked by fragility is no less worthy, no less rich or no less happy: it can become the place where one discovers the value of relationships and the possibility of growing together.
