Tasca Paolo

A FinTech economist specialising in P2P systems, he has held various professional roles in the academic, technological and financial sectors throughout his career.

Founder and Executive Director of the Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UCL CBT) at University College London, as well as a collaborator at the ‘Law Futures Centre’ at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. He holds the position of Honorary Research Professor at Sogang University (Blockchain Research Centre) and Blockchain Master at DeTao Masters Academy, Shanghai, China.
He is also heavily involved in research at various international institutions: Research Associate at the University of Cape Town, Financial Innovation Lab; Research Fellow in the Macro Finance Area at Goethe University Frankfurt; Research Associate at the London School of Economics and Political Science; and Honorary Research Fellow at University College London.

Co-founder and Chief Strategist at Quant Network (London and Zug), he also served as Lead Economist on digital currencies and peer-to-peer financial systems at the Deutsche Bundesbank in Frankfurt.

He is co-author of the bestseller FINTECH Book and the book Banking Beyond Banks and Money. His new book Blockchain Economics: Implications of Distributed Ledger Technology is due to be published shortly. He is the author of various academic articles on blockchain and acts as a consultant to a number of international companies and institutions, including the United Nations and the European Parliament. He is also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Digital Banking and Chief Editor of Frontiers in Blockchain IV Industrial Revolution.
