Strisciuglio Gianpiero

Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group since 13 July 2026.

Throughout his career, he has held senior positions in key companies within the Group, including Trenitalia, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) and Mercitalia Logistics, developing an integrated vision of mobility services, railway infrastructure management, and freight transport and logistics.

He is currently Vice-President of the UIC (International Union of Railways), an international organisation bringing together the world’s leading railway companies, and President of the UIC’s European Region. He also serves as President of AGENS, the Confederation of Transport and Services affiliated to Confindustria. He is President of CIFI (College of Italian Railway Engineers).

He graduated with honours in Transport Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari and completed his education with *a Level II Master’s degree and *a PhD at the Parthenope University of Naples*

Having joined the FS Group in 2002, he has progressed through a managerial career with increasing responsibility, gradually taking the helm of departments and companies with a significant impact on strategy, industrial performance, operational efficiency and organisational development.
