Spicciariello Franco

Director of Public Policy EU MED, Amazon Web Services

A lawyer and communications specialist, he holds a PhD in Civil Economics (LUMSA). He has a degree in Law and in Communication Sciences, and has studied at Harvard University and the University of Massachusetts. He is the author of *Introduction to Institutional Relations* (LUISS University Press).

He has been working in the field of public policy and institutional relations for over twenty years: he took his first steps in the co-operative movement with Confcooperative, then moved to Microsoft, and in 2008 founded the strategic consultancy firm Open Gate Italia. He has been with Amazon for over ten years; since 2019, he has led AWS’s public policy strategy across a region stretching from Portugal to Mongolia, covering over thirty countries, focusing on digital sovereignty, the regulation of artificial intelligence, critical infrastructure and cybersecurity. On behalf of AWS, he has been involved in the G7 and G20 multilateral processes for several years.
