Sorrentino Domenico

Monsignor Domenico Sorrentino was born in Boscoreale (NA), diocese of Nola, on 16 May 1948; ordained priest on 24 June 1972; elected Archbishop Prelate of Pompeii on 17 February 2001;
ordained bishop on 19 March 2001; appointed secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments on 2 August 2003; transferred to Assisi – Nocera Umbra – Gualdo Tadino with the personal title of archbishop on 19 November 2005; elected to the bishopric of Foligno, united “in persona Episcopi” with that of Assisi – Nocera Umbra – Gualdo Tadino, on 26 June 2021. On 9 November 2022, the Umbrian Episcopal Conference entrusted him with the thematic area of evangelisation (committees: Catechesis, Liturgy and Healing Prayer, Missionary, Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue) for a five-year term. In February 2023, he was appointed ecclesiastical assistant to the National Association of Shrines for a five-year term.
