Soffiantini Andrea

Actor and pupil of Giovanni Testori, he approaches the world of theater when he is still in high school. An idea was born in his city, Forlì, together with some friends with whom he formed a small amateur company, Il Teatro dell’Arca. The meeting with the experience of Communion and Liberation, and with the writer and playwright Testori leads him to a real career and to the discovery of the power of the theatrical word. Success comes in 1980 with the “Factum Est”, a work written specifically by the master for him, a monologue that gives voice to a newly conceived creature eager to be born, whose father and mother want to deny life, which arouses scandal and heated controversy.

Niche interpreter, Soffiantini decides to pursue the most uncomfortable path and to refuse easy popularity, concentrating on a purely Catholic repertoire, and on authors such as Thomas Moore, Eugenio Corti and Albert Camus.
