Schillaci Orazio

Prof. Orazio Schillaci, 56, a doctor and Rector of Tor Vergata University since 2019, is the Minister of Health in the government led by Giorgia Meloni.

He is a full professor of nuclear medicine and was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the same university. In 2020, he was appointed member of the Scientific Committee of the Higher Institute of Health.

He has held positions in numerous scientific bodies. He is the author of over 350 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and a member of numerous editorial boards of international scientific journals. He was sworn in by the President of the Republic on 22 October 2022.
