Scaraggi Chiara

Chiara Scaraggi is a Coffee Value Chain Expert at UNIDO. Since joining in 2015, she has contributed to expanding UNIDO’s coffee portfolio across Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi and Mozambique.

Her work centres on public-private partnerships, collaborating with stakeholders from the private sector, academia, international organizations, and development finance institutions (DFIs) to design and implement programmes across African coffee value chains.

As a core member of the ACT Coffee Programme (Advancing Climate-resilience and Transformation in African Coffee), funded by the Italian Cooperation, Chiara focuses on capacity building and skills advancement, strengthening coffee training centres and learning pathways through alliances with local institutions, private sector actors, and global platforms — empowering farming communities and value chain actors to adapt, compete, and thrive in a rapidly changing sector.
