Santangelo Mara

Born in Latina in 1981, she is a former Italian tennis player. She won the title of World Cup Champion (Fed Cup) in 2006. In double swing she won Roland Garros and the Italian Open in 2007. She participated in the Beijing Olympics in 2008, representing Italy. She won the European Beach Tennis Championships in 2009, before announcing her retirement from the competitive career. Her best ranking in the tennis worldwide ranking was 27th in single and 5th in double.
On January 24, 2007, the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, awarded her with the decoration Knight of the Italian Republic.
National Tennis Coach and International Technique FIT, Team Manager of the Italian Team in Fed Cup. Today she is Chairwoman of the FIT Athletics Commission and athlete representative at the CONI Council.
She has deepened motivational issues, team building with well-known Italian trainers and talked about her experience to many companies.
In 2013 she published her autobiography for Piemme publishing company: I promise you.
