Massimiliano Romeo

Massimiliano Romeo is a Senator of the Republic and Chair of the Lega – Salvini Premier – Sardinian Action Party parliamentary group in the Senate, a position he has held since 2022. Born in Monza in 1971, he joined the Northern League in 1992 and, in 1994, at the age of 23, was appointed federal coordinator of the Movimento Giovani Padani. He has held administrative and political posts in Lombardy and was first elected to the Senate in 2018.

During the 18th parliamentary term, he served as Chair of the Lega group in the Senate, as well as sitting on several parliamentary committees. Re-elected as a senator in 2022, he was confirmed as leader of the Lega parliamentary group in the Senate during the 19th parliamentary term. He is a member of the Committee on Culture and Cultural Heritage, Public Education, Scientific Research, Entertainment and Sport, and of the Special Committee for Combating Intolerance, Racism, Anti-Semitism and Incitement to Hatred and Violence.

In December 2024, he was elected regional secretary of the Lega in Lombardy. During his time in parliament, he has focused in particular on economic and social policies, education and culture, regional autonomy and institutional reforms.
