Who we are
Quaranta Alessio

Alessio Quaranta was born in Rome in 1965. He is married with two children.
He holds a degree in Law. He completed a postgraduate specialisation course at the School of Public Administration and Local Authorities, as well as numerous other training and refresher courses in legal subjects.
Appointed Director General of ENAC on 30 April 2009 and confirmed in the post on 1 July 2014 for a further five-year term. Prior to his appointment as Director General, he held various senior management roles within ENAC, including: Head of Corruption Prevention (2013–2014); Central Director of Economic Regulation (2008–2010); Director of the President’s Office (2005–2008); Director of the Human and Organisational Resources Development Service (2004–2005); Head of the International Relations Office (2001–2005); Legal and Economic Adviser to the President (2001–2003).
He holds the following positions within the main international organisations in the aviation sector: President of EATEO (European Association of Aviation Training and Education Organisations); Vice-President of ECAC (European Civil Aviation Conference); Security and Facilitation Focal Point on the ECAC Coordination Committee; Chairman of the Board of Directors of JAA-TO (Joint Aviation Authorities – Training Organisation); Member of the Coordination Committee of the EUROCONTROL Provisional Council and Alternate Member of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport on the Agency’s Standing Committee; Member of the Management Board of EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency); Head of the Italian delegation at various sessions of the ICAO General Assembly, high-level meetings and international negotiations.
He is a member of the scientific committee of several journals, the author of various publications and articles, Chair of the Evaluation Unit at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples, and a speaker at numerous conferences on matters relating to national and international air transport.
