Giorgio Quagliuolo

In 1975, he joined the family business, which operated in the metalworking sector, embarking on an entrepreneurial journey that would lead him, in 1979, to take the helm as Chief Executive Officer. In 1983, together with his brother Fabrizio, he founded Sicon, a company specialising in the production of PET bottles and preforms for the mineral water and carbonated drinks sector, where he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Over the years, he took on increasingly important roles in the sector: in 1994, he was appointed Vice-Chairman of Sosib, a company dedicated to the production and marketing of Coca-Cola brand products for Sardinia. Subsequently, in 2002, following the merger by incorporation of Sosib into Socib—the company responsible for the production and marketing of Coca-Cola products throughout Southern Italy, excluding Sicily—he joined the Board of Directors and held the position until the end of 2008.

At the same time, he consolidated his position within the consortium in the plastics and recycling sector. In 2001, he joined the Board of Directors of Corepla; in 2004, he became its vice-chairman, before taking over as chairman in 2007 and again in 2013. He currently remains a member of the consortium’s Board of Directors.
In 2008, he joined the Board of Directors of Conai, whilst the following year he was elected President of Unionplast and Vice-President of the Gommaplastica Federation, roles he held until 2017, when he became President of Conai and the Federation, positions he still holds today.

In 2010, he assumed the presidency of the Italian Plastics Institute Association (a three-year term) and joined the Board of Directors of the Gommaplastica Fund, where he remained for two consecutive terms. In 2013, he also became President of the Italian Plastics Institute Srl, a position he held until 2016.
He is currently also a member of the General Council and the Industry and Environment Technical Group of Confindustria, having previously served on the Environment Thematic Group during Giorgio Squinzi’s presidency.
