Puligheddu Andrea e Rachele

Andrea and Rachele are the parents of Ettore, whom they welcomed and supported throughout his short life until his birth, which took place in the twenty-third week of pregnancy, following a diagnosis of a very serious and rare genetic abnormality. They chose to follow the path of neonatal comfort care alongside him – the ‘Giacomo Programme’ at Sant’Orsola Hospital in Bologna – supported by Dr Chiara Locatelli.

From that experience of grief and love, they gained a new understanding of what it means to be parents, and today they share their story to show how even a fragile and very short life can be full of meaning and love. In June 2026, Giacomo, their second son, was born, bringing with him the promise of life safeguarded by that journey and by the brother who went before him.
