Pini Agnese

Born in Carrara in 1985, she has been directing La Nazione since August 2019, becoming the first woman in the newspaper’s 160-year history to hold this position. On July 1, 2022, she was also appointed Editor-in-Chief of QN Quotidiano Nazionale, Il Resto del Carlino, and Il Giorno.

She graduated in Literature with top honors from the University of Pisa, and between 2009 and 2010 attended the IFG Walter Tobagi School of Journalism in Milan. In 2007, she joined the Carrara newsroom of La Nazione, later moving to Il Giorno in Milan, where she spent six years covering crime and judicial news. She returned to La Nazione in 2016 to follow the events surrounding Monte dei Paschi di Siena. Early in her career, she also collaborated with the Mondadori Group and ANSA. During her tenure as director of La Nazione, she received several journalism awards, including the Guidarello, Serao, and Ischia prizes. In 2021, Forbes Italy included her among the 100 most successful Italian women of the year. In 2022, she won the “Special Prize for Political Culture Giovanni Spadolini” and received the special mention “Viareggio-Rèpaci” 2022.

Since May 2025, she has been appointed President of the Longanesi publishing house.
