Pezzini Giuseppe

Giuseppe Pezzini is an associate professor at the University of Oxford, after teaching at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, where he moved in 2016 after periods of research at Oxford and Princeton, until 2021. He studied at the Scuola Normale Superiore Pisa and the University of Oxford. He is a member of the Young Academy of Scotland and the Young Academy of Europe, and Founding Director of the Centre for the Public Understanding of Greek and Roman Drama. His publications mainly concern Latin linguistics and philology, Roman comedy, and the theory of literary fiction, ancient and modern. He is a contributor to the Institute for Theology, Imagination and the Arts at the University of St Andrews, and contributes assiduously to the Journal of Inklings Studies, a leading academic journal devoted to Tolkien. He has written for “Il Sole 24 Ore,” “Angelus,” “Church Time,” “Scottish Catholic Observer,” and “Tracks.” He is among the founders of the London Encounter. For the Encounter he curated the exhibition on J.H. Newman in 2011.
