Yahya Sergio Yahe Pallavicini

Yahya Pallavicini is the imam of the Al-Wahid Mosque in Milan and vice president of COREIS (Italian Islamic Religious Community). For over twenty years, he has been one of the leading figures in Italian and European Islam, committed to promoting interfaith dialogue, religious freedom, and cooperation between civil institutions and faith communities. He is president of EULEMA, the European Council of Muslim Religious Leaders, and advisor on international relations for Nahdlatul Ulama, Indonesia’s largest Muslim organization. He is also a member of the Global Tolerance Alliance.

He has represented Islam in numerous international forums, speaking before European Union institutions, the United Nations, the G20 Religion Forum, the OSCE, the World Economic Forum, and the UN Climate Conferences (COP). He has participated in major initiatives promoting dialogue between Christians and Muslims, including the Catholic-Muslim Forum at the Vatican, the “A Common Word” document, and the process leading to the Declaration on Human Fraternity. From 2005 to 2018, he served as Advisor on Italian Islam to the Ministry of the Interior and held the position of ICESCO Ambassador for Education, Culture, and Science.

Having studied in Italy, Morocco, Malaysia, France, and Egypt under some of the most authoritative scholars of contemporary Islam, he teaches at Italian universities and in master’s programs on topics such as Islamic theology, the Quran, interreligious dialogue, and the prevention of radicalism. He is the author of numerous essays on Islam, spirituality, and the relationship between Muslims and European society, including “Islam in Europe. “ ”Reflections of an Italian Imam“,” Inside the Mosque“, ”The Sura of Mary“, and ”Contemplating Allah“. Since 2009, he has consistently been ranked among the 500 most influential Muslims in the world.
