Who we are
Claudio Ongis

Claudio Ongis was born in Bergamo in 1957. He is a successful Italian entrepreneur in the fields of precision engineering, electromechanics, metallurgy, and real estate. He started out as a mechanical draftsman at Omega in Desio (MB), while studying in the evenings. In 1981, when the company closed its doors, Claudio received a lathe in lieu of severance pay and began his entrepreneurial journey in the garage of his home.
Today, he is the president of Cmo Group S.p.A., a leading European company in the mechanical machining sector ranked among the top three players in Europe, with five production sites (three in Brianza, one in the province of Bergamo, and one in Tunisia) and a turnover of 120 million euros.
Throughout his entrepreneurial journey, he has always placed the individual and their value at the forefront. Deeply devoted to his family—which he describes as a man’s most precious asset—he has facilitated the generational transition of his company to his daughters, Debora and Monica, who now lead the group alongside him
