Jens Pii Olesen

Jens Pii Olesen has been at the helm of Novo Nordisk Italia since January 2026. Born and raised in Denmark, he is married and has two children. He holds a degree in Economics from Copenhagen Business School and has supplemented his education with executive programmes at Harvard Business School. After a career spanning more than 25 years at Novo Nordisk, he has taken on this new challenge, bringing to the Italian subsidiary a leadership style focused on innovation, with strategic vision, experience in product launches and a proven ability to drive growth and transformation.

His career within the Danish group began in 2000 as a Diabetes Product Manager, after which he held roles of increasing responsibility at regional and global levels. As General Manager, he has led several countries, including Turkey prior to taking charge of Italy. His appointment as head of the Italian subsidiary confirms Italy’s strategic role within the group’s international vision, with the aim of being a partner within the healthcare system that promotes health through research, innovation and environmental sustainability, thereby creating value for the country. Olesen was recently named among the 200 most influential Danes on LinkedIn.
