Nicolucci Roberto

Roberto Nicolucci was born in Naples. A historian and art critic, he graduated with honors from the Università Suor Orsola Benincasa di Napoli, presenting a master’s thesis on the Neapolitan decorator Francesco De Mura. He is currently a professor of modern art history at the Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, where he also serves on the board of directors.

He advises the offices of the Deputy Prime Minister, Sen. Matteo Salvini, and in 2021 founded the publishing house Roberto Nicolucci Editore. He has collaborated on numerous exhibitions and catalogs, including those dedicated to Caravaggio in Naples, Luca Giordano in Paris and Naples, and the transfer of artworks from the Museo di Capodimonte to the Louvre in 2023. He has written thematic sheets on Caravaggio and the 17th century for the Capodimonte exhibition at the Reggia di Venaria.

His scholarly activity is combined with outreach: he has published academic studies in art history, directed the column “La Roma che non ti aspetti” for Il Tempo (2019–2023), and promoted Italian cultural heritage in newspapers and TV. He oversaw the creation of the Sala Museale di Storia, Arte e Cultura at the Scuola Militare Nunziatella and is a member of the Albo d’Oro of the Nunziatella Foundation.

In 2022, he sponsored the restoration of Adamo ed Eva piangono la morte di Abele by Nicola Malinconico at the Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte, was featured by Forbes as an “under 30 figure accelerating cultural achievements,” and received the «Alumni Praeclari» award. In 2023, Giornale dell’arte included him among the “30 under 30” leading figures in the art world.
