Natsis Yannis

Yannis Natsis is currently the Director of the European Social Insurance Platform (ESIP), the organization that brings together 45 social security institutions across 18 countries, since February 8, 2022.

In 2019, he was appointed by EU countries to the Board of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), a position he held until December 2021. He has also been a board member of the European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) since 2018.

Previously, he led advocacy for equitable access to medicines at the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) (2016–2022). He worked with the TransAtlantic Consumer Dialogue (TACD) (2013–2015) and, between 2006 and 2010, was an investigative reporter for the Greek TV program “Fakeli” and a columnist for Kathimerini.

He holds a degree in European Studies from Panteion University in Athens and a Master in International Conflict Analysis from the University of Kent, UK. He is fluent in Greek, English, and French.

In his role at ESIP, he promotes social protection as a pillar of European competitiveness and leads initiatives for sustainable access to medicines, actively engaging in debates on intellectual property and pharmaceutical innovation.
