Marco Moretti, born in 1969, began his career after he graduated from university in 1994, in a Top5 Consulting agency, Arthur Andersen Consulting (today called Accenture): with over 20 experiences in the energy industry, both in Business Process Reingineering and System Integration, managing several projects at the larger national and international operators in different parts of the energy value chain:
• Sale and Energy trading of electricity and gas: contact centers, sales networks, billing systems and credit collection, unbundling, and risk management.
• Power generation: real time operations and central electric maintenance.
• Distribution: maintenance and asset management of gas, electric, water, and district heating networks.
Beginning in 2007, he became the director of IT in Energy Investments, managing the startup Italcogim Energie, which became the third gas operator with 5 billion cubic meters of gas sold to 1,000 business customers and more than 1 million mass market customers achieved with a rhythm of 2,000 customer per day.
In 2009, he was promoted to CIO of GDF SUEZ Energie Italia & South Europe, which consolidated the Italian activities of the group, in the electricity production (6 GW of installed capacity, 20 TWh produced in 7 plants), in sales (1,400,000 gas and electric clients) in distribution (14,000 km of gas networks in 470 concessions), gas storage, and GNL.
In 2015 he became the CIO of the Group A2A, the multiutility which in 2013 recorded a turnover of 5.6 billion Euros, was listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, with over 10 GW installed (according to the Italian electricity operator), a the protagonist in the environmental sector with 2.5 million tons of waste treated, of which more than half is used to produce electric energy, one of the main operators in Italy in district heating with 2,382 GWht sold to end users, and in gas with more than 2 billion cubic meters distributed.
