Massucchielli Lorenzo

Lorenzo Massucchielli is Head of the International Emergencies Operational Unit at the Italian Red Cross, where he coordinates risk management, crisis response, and international emergency activities. Born in Milan in 1986, he has over fifteen years of experience in crisis management and has participated in emergency missions in scenarios such as the Haiti earthquake (2010), the Padang earthquake in Indonesia (2009), the L’Aquila earthquake (2009), and the crisis in Georgia (2008). He has also led development and humanitarian response projects in Central and West Africa and the Caucasus.

He is actively involved in the development of resilience strategies and innovative crisis management systems, having contributed to numerous European projects under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs, with a focus on multi-risk planning.
