Mariotti Francesca

Born in Frosinone on March 16, 1973, she earned a Law degree at the Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza”; she is a lawyer and certified auditor.

Since June 2025, she has been President of ENEA, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development.

She served as Director General of Confindustria from 2020 to 2023, coordinating institutional, national, and international activities, and managing the administrative operations of the Association. Specialized in tax and accounting, after working in tax consulting and in banking trade associations, she led for approximately 10 years Confindustria’s Fiscal Policies Area, defining fiscal, accounting, and state aid policies, and managing institutional relations in the economic field.

Since 2024, she has been an Independent Board Member of Almaviva S.p.A., an Italian leading group in IT and digital innovation, serving on the Sustainability Committee. In the same year, she became an Independent Board Member of Saipem S.p.A., where she chairs the Remuneration and Nominations Committee and participates in the Sustainability, Scenarios, and Governance Committees; she is Chair of the Board of Statutory Auditors of CESI S.p.A., a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification in the electrical sector. Since 2022, she has been an independent Board Member and Remuneration Committee member of Aboca S.p.A., a benefit company in the healthcare sector, and also since 2022 a full member of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Edulia del Sapere Treccani S.r.l.

She has previously held similar positions in major companies in media (Mediaset S.p.A.), banking (Widiba S.p.A.) and healthcare (I.W.S. S.p.A.).

She has chaired or been a member of numerous institutional bodies and committees, including: Chair of the Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Committee at the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security; member of the Corporate Governance Committee of Borsa Italiana; member of the Executive Bureau of Business Europe; Vice-Chair of the Market Operators and Investors Committee of CONSOB; member of the Supervisory and later Administrative Board of the Italian Accounting Organization – OIC.

She has contributed to various reform projects as a specialized advisor to Ministerial Commissions and is the author of several articles on tax and accounting topics.

She collaborates with charity initiatives, focusing particularly on childhood – she is a member of the Board of Directors of UNICEF Italy – inclusion, and educational poverty. She is frequently invited as a role model or mentor in programs promoting female empowerment.
