Maccagno Michele

Michele Maccagno is an Actor.
After obtaining a degree in Architecture from the Politecnico University of Milan, Michele Maccagno graduated as an actor from the Civic School of Theater Paolo Grassi in Milan. Over the years, he honed his skills and worked with Danio Manfredini, Marco Baliani, Giampiero Solari, Massimo Navone, and Luca Ronconi. He grew under the guidance of Luca Ronconi at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, playing prominent roles in the maestro’s works.
In 2006, he portrayed Jaques Riviere in “La mente sola” by Emanuele Trevi alongside Vinicio Marchioni. In 2007, he played Aristotle and the Presenter in Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451.” In the 2007/2008 season, he was Tiresias in “L’antro delle ninfe” by Porfirio and Laertes in “Itaca” by Botho Strauss. In 2008, he participated in the production of “Lezioni” by Henrik Ibsen presented at the Spoleto Festival and played Paulus Snyder in Bertolt Brecht’s “Santa Giovanna dei Macelli.” Antonio Tarantino specifically wrote the play “Gramsci a Turi” for him, in which he played the protagonist under the direction of Daniele Salvo.
He has worked with prominent directors in the national and international scene, including Carmelo Rifici in Anton Chekhov’s “Tre Sorelle,” Giacosa’s “Tardi Ravveduta,” and G. Lagarce’s “Pretendenti.”
He has also collaborated with Claudio Longhi in “Cos’è l’Amore” alongside Franco Branciaroli and in Camus’ “La Peste” alongside Massimo Popolizio, with Bruno Fornasari in D. Kelly’s “Love and Money” and “Suggeritore,” and with Roland Schimmelpfennig in “Push Up.” Under the guidance of Piotr Fomenko, he played the role of the Stone Guest in Pushkin’s “Convitato di Pietra.” Directed by Gigi Dall’Aglio, he performed the famous monologue “sdisOre'” by G. Testori, earning nominations for various national awards.
With the Teatro Stabile del Veneto, he participated in several successful productions, including “L’Ispettore Generale” directed by Damiano Michieletto and “I Rusteghi” directed by Giuseppe Emiliani. The award-winning Catalan director Alex Rìgola chose him for the role of Cassio in the restaging of the renowned “Giulio Cesare” alongside Michele Riondino. Subsequently, Federico Tiezzi selected him for the highly successful play “Freud” or “L’interpretazione dei sogni” by Massini, where he played Solomon alongside Fabrizio Gifuni at the Piccolo Teatro. Giampiero Borgia cast him in the monologue “Eracle Odiatore” by F. Sinisi, which debuted at the Castrovillari Festival and premiered nationally at the Asti Festival in 2018. Alex Rigola directed him in Anton Chekhov’s famous “Uncle Vanya” in the role of the protagonist, Uncle Vanya. He has appeared in several primetime television series for Rai and Mediaset, including “Non uccidere,” “Rex V,” “La certosa di Parma,” “A un passo dal cielo,” “Cinderella,” and “Ho sposato uno sbirro 2.”
He has also worked with Peter Greenaway in the film industry. Michele Maccagno won the National Franco Enriquez Award in 2017 for Best Actor and was nominated for the Ubu Award.
