Lusetti Mauro

Mauro Lusetti was born in Sassuolo (Modena) in 1954. On 8 May 2014, he was elected President of Legacoop Nazionale by the Executive Committee, a position confirmed by the 39th Congress held in Rome on 16–18 December 2014. From 4 June to 29 January 2015, he served as President of the Italian Cooperative Alliance.
His professional career in the cooperative sector began at the age of 20 at Federcoop in Modena, and in 1980 he joined Mercurio Modena, the cooperative representing retailers in the province.
As Head of Development and Technical Office from 1984, he led the working group tasked with opening the La Rotonda Shopping Centre in Modena, the first Conad hypermarket in Italy, which opened in 1990, the year in which Conad Nord Est was formed from the merger of Mercurio Modena and Mercurio Bologna.
He was Head of Channel Development at the Conad National Consortium until 1996, when he returned to Modena as Director of the Emilia Region for Conad Nord Est. There, in 1996, he was one of the key figures behind the merger with Conad Liguria and Conad Piemonte, and in 1998 he played a leading role in the establishment of Nordiconad, of which he became Chief Executive Officer three years later, in 2001.
He was a member of the National Executive of Legacoop and Vice-President of Legacoop Emilia-Romagna. Since 8 June 2015, he has been President of the Ivano Barberini Foundation and a member of the Executive Board of AICCON, the Italian Association for the Promotion of the Culture of Cooperation and the Non-Profit Sector, for the three-year period 2015–2018. On 17 June 2015, he was appointed president of the Italian Documentation Centre on Cooperation and the Social Economy.
