Beatrice Lorenzin

Hon. Beatrice Lorenzin is former Italian Minister of Health in the Cabinet of the President of the Council, Matteo Renzi, who has sworn to the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano, on 22 February 2014.
She led the Ministry of Health also in government led by Enrico Letta, from 28 April 2013 to the birth of the new government.
Hon. Lorenzin is the fifth women of Minister of Health, after Tina Anselmi, Mariapia Garavaglia, Rosy Bindi, Livia Turco.
She was born in Rome on October 14, 1971, after the high school diploma, she began her political career on October 1997 with the election to the Council of the XIII Municipality of Rome in the list of Forza Italia. On April 1999 she became a regional coordinator of the youth movement of the party in Lazio. In May 2001 she was elected municipal councilor in Rome. Only woman in the center-right coalition, she was Vice-Chairman of Women Elected and Vice President of the Group Board of Forza Italia.
Between 2005 and mid-2006 she was Head of the Secretariat of the Secretary to Information Technology, Communications and Publishing at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. In May 2005 she was appointed Regional Coordinator of Forza Italia for Lazio. From September 2006 to March 2008 she served as the National Coordinator of Forza Italia – Youth for Freedom.
In 2008 she was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in the PDL list. During the XVI Legislature becomes a member of the Board of the group in the Chamber of deputies and in the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, the Bicameral Commission for the Implementation of Fiscal Federalism, the Parliamentary Commission for Childhood.
In the general elections of 24-25 February 2013, she is reconfirmed Member of Parliament.
