Livi Bacci Massimo

Massimo Livi Bacci, Florentine, is professor emeritus of Demography at the University of Florence and a member of the Academy of the Lincei.
His research has covered both the demographic history of America and the people of colonial America, as well as contemporary demography, with particular attention to the relations between population dynamics, economy and society.
He is one of the founders and animators of the Neodemos website, dedicated to demographic and social issues.

Among the books published in the last decade, with editions in various languages, “The World’s Smallest History of the World” (6th Edition, 2015), “The Narrow Planet” (2015); “Amazon. The Empire of Water “(2012); “On the way. Short History of Migration “(2011),” Conquest. The Destruction of American Indians “(2006). In 2016 he published a book for children “The Long Way of Humanity”.
