Who we are
Jazzar Carla
Carla Jazzar is Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to the Italian Republic, the Republic of Malta and the Republic of San Marino, as well as to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisations based in Rome. A career diplomat, she has over thirty years’ experience in bilateral and multilateral diplomacy. She holds a Master’s degree in Political and Administrative Sciences from Saint Joseph University in Beirut and a second Master’s degree in Diplomatic Studies and International Law from the Diplomatic Academy of London.
She has held posts in London and Paris, where she served as Lebanon’s Deputy Permanent Representative to UNESCO and the OIF, and in Washington, where from 2004 she served for over twelve years as Deputy Head of Mission, assuming the role of Chargé d’Affaires in 2016–2017. Upon her return to Beirut, she headed the Cryptography Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From 2020 to 2024, she served as Ambassador/Chargé d’Affaires in Brazil. She presented her credentials to President Sergio Mattarella on 20 November 2025. She speaks Arabic, French, English and Portuguese and is learning Italian.
