Norma Heredia

Born in Argentina, in the province of Tucumán, she grew up in a large family known for its strong social commitment. She began her professional career as a literature teacher in public schools, where she felt the call to religious life among young people and in the poorest communities. After joining the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, she continued teaching at the secondary and higher education levels, eventually assuming the roles of academic director and legal representative of educational institutions.

She earned a degree in Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina (UCA) and specialized in teaching Theology and Consecrated Life at the “St. Thomas Aquinas” Center of the Dominicans in Buenos Aires, conducting formation courses for religious and priests throughout the country.

As a religious sister and clinical psychologist, she has dedicated fifteen years to ministering in vulnerable neighborhoods and, in particular, to the work of the Federación Familia Grande Hogar de Cristo, supporting women, men, and children in their treatment and recovery from drug addiction and social marginalization.

She currently resides in Rome, where she serves as Vicar General of her congregation and actively collaborates with the Caritas Listening Center. Drawing on this extensive experience, she now promotes the development of social, community, and educational projects in Italy aimed at welcoming, listening to, and helping people find a new beginning.
