Gross Silvia

Silvia Gross was born in Padua on June 20, 1971.
Since 2017, she has been a full professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry and Chemistry of Colloidal Systems at the Department of Chemical Sciences, University of Padua. She received her BSc in Chemistry (1996; 110 cum laude) and PhD in Chemical Sciences (2001) from the same university. She served as a postdoc (2001-2002) at the Technische Universität Wien and was a Researcher (2002-2010) and First Researcher (2010-2017) at the National Research Council (CNR). She was Visiting Scientist at the Universities of Stuttgart (2004 and 2005) and Versailles (2007 and 2008) and TUM Visiting Professor at Technische Universität München in 2021. Since 2012, she has been a regular visiting professor every year at Justus Liebig Universität Giessen and has a second affiliation as DFG Mercator Fellow at KIT Karlsruhe since 2021. On June 15, 2024, she was elected s.c.r. (resident corresponding member) of the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti. She has also taught at the universities of Giessen, Nova Gorica, Ljubljana, Versailles, KIT Karlsruhe, TU München. In 2021, he established and launched the international master’s degree program in Sustainable Chemistry & Technologies for Circular Economy at the University of Padua, of which he is president.
