Valentina Greggio was born in Verbania on 19 March 1991.

She started skiing at the age of 3, following in her older brother’s footsteps, and began competing at the age of 7, winning two FIS Junior races and finishing third in the FIS Junior World Criterium.She switched to Speedski at the age of 19, at the invitation of the current National Team coach, who officially included her in the squad in 2011. For the first two years, she competed in the SDH category, winning the World Title and the World Championships, and in 2013 she set a new speed record of 202.576 km/h (which she still holds today).The following year, she moved up to S1, the top category in Speedski, and finished second in the overall World Cup standings.

In 2015, she won the World Championship title and the overall World Cup, and the following year she claimed the World Cup, a World Championship gold medallion and broke the world record by reaching 247.083 km/h. Between 2017 and 2018, she won two overall World Cups and a gold medallion at the World Championships.Between 2019 and 2026, he achieved numerous successes: at the World Championships, he won four gold medals (2022, 2024, 2025, 2026), one silver medal (2023) and one bronze medal (2019). She won four overall World Cups (2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026), as well as numerous stage victories that cemented her dominance in the discipline.

In 2025, she became the first female athlete in history to win a World Cup race ahead of all competing athletes, including men. In April 2026, she broke her own women’s world speed record, taking it to 248.270 km/h, on the same track where she had triumphed ten years earlier. Since 2023, Valentina has been collaborating with Dallara, a world-leading company in aerodynamics and safety, on a programme of development and innovation that has led to the creation of new technical set-ups, contributing to the prestigious results achieved in recent years.

A graduate in Sports Science, she currently combines her competitive career with work as a teacher, ski instructor and athletic trainer.
