Giovagnoli Agostino

Agostino Giovagnoli (Rome, 1952) has been full professor of Contemporary History since 1987 and has taught at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore since 1993. Among his publications: The Italian Party. Christian Democracy from 1942 to 1944, Laterza, Rome Bari 1996; Rome and Beijing. The non-European turning point of Benedict XV, Studium, Rome 1999; History and globalization, Laterza, Rome Bari 2003; The Moro case. A republican tragedy, Il Mulino, Bologna 2005; Church and Democracy. The lesson of Pietro Scoppola, Il Mulino, Bologna 2011, The Italian Republic 1946-2016, Laterza, Rome Bari 2016, Sixty-eight. The protest party, San Paolo, Cinisello Balsamo 2018. With Elisa Giunipero he edited The agreement between the Holy See and China. Chinese Catholicism between past and future, Vatican City, Urbaniana University Press 2019. He was president of SISSCo from 2011 to 2015. He is part of the scientific committee of the program “Passato e presente” (RAI 3) and is a columnist for “Avvenire ”.
