Georgeon Thomas

Thomas Georgeon is a Trappist monk. After studying communication at the Sorbonne University in Paris, he worked for five years in a photo agency. In 1994, he joined the Abbey of Notre-Dame de la Trappe in Normandy, where he became master of novices and later prior. In 2009, after a year as superior, he was elected abbot of the Community of Trappist Monks in Frattocchie (Rome). In 2012 he was chosen as secretary to the Abbot General of the Order, and in 2013 he was appointed postulator of the cause of beatification of the 19 martyrs of Algeria, which took place on 8 December 2018 in Oran, Algeria.
