The Folk Music Society of Ireland was founded in Dublin in 1971 by a group of interested individuals with the aims of encouraging interest and promoting research in the traditional music, song and dance of Ireland.

The Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples Foundation was born from the desire of some friends to meet, get to know, and bring to Rimini all that is beautiful and good in the culture of the time.
The Meeting
In the last week of August, Rimini becomes the capital of international culture and is overrun by 'the Meeting people,' as defined by the media: curious, open-minded, discerning individuals from all over the world who gather for this event, which has been taking place since the early 1980s.
