Fulvia Ferrante

Sister Fulvia Ferrante is a member of the Congregation Suore di Carità dell’Assunzione, which gave rise to the Cooperativa Martinengo.

Since 1950, the Congregation has been based in the Corvetto area, working primarily in the suburbs of large cities (Milan, Naples, Rome, Trieste, Turin, and Madrid), caring for the sick and assisting minors and their parents. The Congregation supports vulnerable families with health problems, financial hardship, and social isolation. This initiative today takes the form of home care and community outreach. It is a work created to serve each individual, respected simply for their existence.

In Milan, Sister Fulvia is particularly responsible for designing services and the “La Casa di Sam o dell’amicizia” (House of Sam or Friendship) Day Center and the Casa di Sam Community Center. The first welcomes minors referred by Social Services, who need a supportive network to overcome difficulties related to personal or family fragility and the struggle to integrate or remain in school. The second, the Community Center, is a more “soft” facility that works with a preventative approach, offering local minors a healthy social space where they can rediscover themselves and find positive points of reference to address the challenges they face daily.
