Who we are
Estrada Nicolas

Nicolas Estrada is an astrophysicist and works at Thales Alenia Space in Gorgonzola.
His journey begins in Colombia, at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, where he first approaches physics. He then spends a period of religious formation and studies in classical humanities and philosophy between Medellín, Salamanca, and Rome, with the Legionaries of Christ congregation. Returning to his original passion, he earns a degree in particle physics from the University of L’Aquila and a PhD in astronomy from the University of Padua.
His research focuses on galaxy evolution and the study of the universe, following two complementary lines of inquiry: on one hand, the properties of galaxies in the vicinity of galaxy clusters; on the other, the characteristics of the cosmos as a whole, investigated through the large-scale distribution of galaxies.
Today he brings together science and engineering, developing software for GNSS receivers and scientific instrumentation for various European and international space missions.
