Who we are
Esposito Costantino

He is Full Professor of History of Philosophy at the Università di Bari and has distinguished himself through his studies on the thought of Martin Heidegger, Immanuel Kant, and Francisco Suarez. He edited the Italian editions of Kant’s Lectures on the Philosophy of Religion, the first three Metaphysical Disputations by Suárez, and Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason, and has published numerous essays in Italy and abroad.
Since 2001, together with P. Porro, he has been Director of the International Yearbook of the History of Metaphysics «Quaestio», and he contributed to the creation of the Letture di filosofia, an educational project launched at the Meeting di Rimini aimed at a broader audience beyond academia. Together with Porro, he is the author of the high school philosophy textbook I mondi della filosofia (3 vols., Laterza, 2016).
Among his most recent works are Introduzione a Heidegger (2017), Il nichilismo del nostro tempo. Una cronaca (Carocci, Rome 2021), translated into several languages, and the edited collective volume Il nichilismo contemporaneo. Eredità, trasformazioni, problemi aperti (Studium, Rome 2024).
His activity combines academic rigor, in-depth historical-philosophical research, and cultural dissemination, making him a reference figure in contemporary philosophy, with particular attention to metaphysics, phenomenology, and the problems of nihilism. His contribution is recognized nationally and internationally, both in scholarly and educational contexts, through publications, edited volumes, and training initiatives addressed to students and philosophy enthusiasts.
